I have emerged from the Rat Cave

Hello Chumps,

I will admit I have been a bad and been very slack of late. However I have locked myself in my Rat hole this weekend and put in some serious graft and painted the last 15 plague monks. But even after that I did not meet this quarters target, as not all of my 500 points are quite finished. I'll detail below but until then behold, the first 500 points:
First up is the muscle: two Rat Ogres and one Packmaster. These guys are what took up most of my time and are the most finished out of everything.

Next up are the plague monks. These guys need basing and are missing a details pass (and a standard). But I'm pretty happy with how they look as a unit (from about 4 feet away :P).

And finally the main clanrat unit. They look like they were painted by a 14 year old, and in fact they were painted when I was 14, along with the Chieftain. Again missing basing and the standard but I probably won't be working on them tbh. I hope to replace these with a unit of the new design Skaven, when I can a) be bothered b) afford it. The chieftain I may strip and repaint for the next 500. The warpfire thrower has had it's first highlight stage done, but I is a fair way from actually being completed.

So there we have it the first 500 points (sort of) completed. Now to work on the next 500. Which will most likely include another unit of 30 clanrats..... Oh god more fucking rats.....sooooo many rats!!!

I'm a troll man...

Here is a painting update! I've been a bit slack recently, but I've finally started work on the howdah for the big spider. I actually don't know how some parts go together, so expect it to be bodged, at a jaunty angle and badly glued together. It will also have the web flinger because quite frankly, I don't want a goblin shaman miscasting, then exploding on my lovely big spider.

Also, I've nearly finished the river trolls. They haven't been based yet, nor had goblins stuck on them (at least one of them is going to have a goblin sitting on his back). Here they are so far:

Pokey

Fishy

Sicky
Can't wait to get these lads into a scrap. Or rather, can't wait to fail those stupidity tests and have them stand about doing naff all.

The last big push...

So I'd be lying if I said I've made great strides in my 500 points. Truth be told, I tend to jump between projects and painting 40 goblins in one go has taken me far too long since I put it off and put it off in favour of other projects here and there.

Nevertheless, I fully intend to complete my first 500 points in time for the April 15th deadline so we can get some awesome looking games on the go. I managed to basecoat & wash 15 of the Night Goblins tonight which was actually pretty good going. There are 10 more to get to this stage (since 5 are finished already)which should be done tonight and then highlighting can start. I'm hoping to have them done by the weekend so I can concentrate on the Squig Hoppers! I'm hoping that they'll be finished over the Bank Holiday weekend giving me plenty of time to paint the three characters and get everything based and ready. Of course it's all well and good saying this but getting it done is another matter.

Here's the 15 I've done so far tonight. They don't look like much at the moment but once a couple of highlight layers are on they'll look pretty shiny!
